Privacy Policy

UseBy & Print does not send your label, camera or printer data to holloPrint or Hollowall Limited. The app has no user account, analytics, advertising or developer-operated server. Its working data is stored locally on your device, except where your operating system's backup service or services you deliberately use, such as an app store or external retailer, are involved.

Who publishes this app

UseBy & Print is published under the developer name holloPrint, a developer brand operated by Hollowall Limited.

What Hollowall Limited collects

Hollowall Limited does not receive or collect your label content, camera images, printer settings, print history or other working data from the app. Information you choose to send us yourself, such as support email, is handled as ordinary correspondence.

Hollowall Limited is the data controller for that correspondence. It is kept only for as long as it takes to answer you and to deal with anything arising from it, and it is never used for marketing. If you believe your information has been handled wrongly, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

What is stored on your device

• Printer settings — printer model, selected roll or tape, connection details and printer names.
• Your labels — information used by the Check screen, including tracking code, dates, actions and descriptions.
• Recent prints — shortcuts used by the Day Dot workflow.
• Free-tier counters — for example how many camera scans or labels were made during the current day.

The camera

The camera is used to read dates, packet text, printer model numbers and roll/tape codes. No photograph is intentionally taken, saved or uploaded to Hollowall Limited. Live camera frames are analysed on the device by on-device text-recognition technology and discarded once read. The recognition component may differ by platform, but the recognition is intended to take place locally on the device rather than on a Hollowall Limited server.

Local network and printer communication

The app communicates with supported printers using the connection methods available on your device and printer. Depending on platform and model, this can include local network/Wi‑Fi, Bluetooth, USB, or a system-supported local printing service such as AirPrint. These communications are not relayed through a Hollowall Limited server.

App-store purchases

The app does not currently offer anything to buy. When a Pro upgrade or another digital entitlement becomes available, the purchase will be processed by the app store through which you obtained the app, such as Google Play or Apple's App Store. The app may ask that store whether your account owns an entitlement so features can be enabled or restored. Hollowall Limited does not receive or store your full payment-card or bank details.

Links outside the app

The app may open an external browser or installed app to show products such as compatible label rolls or tape. Once an external service opens, that service's own privacy policy applies. Some shopping links may in future be affiliate links and will be identified as such.

Device and cloud backup

If device backup is enabled, your operating system or account provider may include eligible app settings or locally stored app data in a device or cloud backup. For example, Android/Google backup or Apple/iCloud backup may apply depending on your platform and settings. You can manage backup through your device or account settings.

Camera

Used while a scanning screen is open.

Bluetooth

Used where required to communicate with a supported Bluetooth printer. The permissions requested can differ by operating system and connection method.

Local network and network access

Used to discover and communicate with compatible printers, for external links you choose to open and, once purchases exist, for app-store purchase functions. Some platforms may show a specific local-network permission prompt.

USB or system printing

Where supported, the app may use USB access on compatible devices or a platform printing service such as AirPrint. These capabilities are only used when you choose the relevant printer connection.

Vibration or haptics

Used for short feedback when the camera recognises something.

The app is not intended to request access to your contacts, microphone or general photo library for its normal operation.

Children

UseBy & Print is a kitchen and food-labelling utility and is not directed at children.

Removing your information

Remove local app data by deleting/uninstalling the app or by using the app-storage controls provided by your operating system. Device or cloud backups may need to be managed separately through your platform's backup settings.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the “Last updated” date above will change.
